A Houston Favorite Since 1979
At Spanish Flowers Mexican Restaurant, our story began in 1979 with a dream and a passion for authentic Mexican cuisine. Founded by Mary L. Bernal, a proud Houston native inspired by summers spent in Guadalajara, Spanish Flowers has become a beloved culinary landmark rooted in tradition, family, and heart. What started as one small restaurant serving traditional home-style meals has grown into a multi-location favorite across the city. In 2009, the Hernandez family joined Mrs. Bernal to carry that dream forward—keeping the warmth, flavors, and welcoming spirit alive for generations to come.
We're proud to say that Spanish Flowers has been officially honored with its own day by the City of Houston, a true reflection of the love and loyalty our community has shown us through the years. Many of our staff have been with us for decades, and our guests are like family—familiar faces we're always excited to see again.
At Spanish Flowers, we're known not only for our traditional Mexican dishes like menudo and tamales, but also for Tex-Mex favorites like sizzling fajitas and cheesy enchiladas. And no visit is complete without one of our to-die-for margaritas or a refreshing agua fresca to cool off with. We're also proud to be open 24 hours on weekends, making sure that first responders, night-shift workers, and late-night diners can always enjoy a comforting, home-style meal whenever they need it most. As we continue to grow, our mission remains the same: to serve fresh, flavorful food in a space that feels like home. We're deeply grateful to our loyal guests, and we look forward to welcoming new generations into the Spanish Flowers family. Thank you for being part of our story.
